Dallas Group-Homes Victory!

Three years ago, the Texas Legislature passed a law allowing cities to regulate group homes for citizens with mental health and addiction problems. Since then Council Member Delia Jasso has been working hard to create a code to oversee group homes in the city of Dallas. On Wednesday 27, 2012 the Dallas City Council adopted new rules regulating group homes within the city. The next steps will be enforcing the new rules, but this is a huge victory for the city and it’s most vulnerable citizens. A big thanks goes out to Council Member Jasso and her colleagues for getting this done!
